The office to contact depends on who held the person and which record is needed. For a local jail release, start with the Wood County Sheriff’s Office. The jail operates at all hours, but that does not establish public-counter hours or promise immediate release processing.

Use the following route for the type of help required:

• For state parole or local probation, use the parole and probation contacts.
• For same-day county book-outs, review the 24-hour release fallback; Wood County publishes no verified rolling feed.
• For a projected state release or custody-change alert, use the projected release date and VINELink pages.
• For facility-specific questions, contact the Wood County Jail or Clyde M. Johnston Unit listed below.
• For a sentenced state prisoner, use TDCJ offender information or its Public Information Act process.
• For federal or immigration custody, use the responsible BOP or ICE system, not the county jail portal.

Court and Supervision Offices

The District Clerk holds district-court pleadings and papers. It can supply filed records but cannot give legal advice. Wood County Adult Probation handles local community supervision, while TDCJ’s Tyler office handles state parole assigned through its district system.
